ABACÁ
Mexico
Mexico
A mexican brand with in-house
design and its own workshop in
Guadalajara, Mexico, crafting clothes
from cotton gauze for over 25 years.
One season a year – Spring/Summer –
cut, sewn and dyed to order. No excess stock.
Abacá is rooted in Mexican textile
tradition – the techniques, the craft
and rhythm of production.
Abacá works exclusively with 100%
cotton gauze – a lightweight, openweave
material that is breathable,
hypoallergenic and biodegradable.
The weave regulates body
temperature naturally, drawing heat
and moisture away from the skin. It is
gentle enough to wear against bare
skin, and gets softer with every wash
rather than wearing out.
From a retail perspective, it’s a fabric
that sells itself: customers notice it
the moment they touch it. And once
they own a piece, they tend to come
back.
Care: Machine washable, tumble dryer safe, no ironing needed. The natural texture of gauze means creasing is part of the character – pieces pack flat in a suitcase and come out looking fine.
Around 20 colours each season – from soft, natural tones to stronger, more confident shades. Every style is available in any colour, which means each boutique can build a collection that is entirely their own.
The design language is clean and uncluttered, with details that reward a closer look: an asymmetric hem, a textured pocket, a gathered sleeve, a subtle pleat. Pieces are relaxed without being shapeless, and versatile enough to work across a wide customer base.
Sizing runs XS to XXL, with cuts designed to fit a range of body types comfortably.
Cotton gauze is fully biodegradable. Production is made to order, which means no overproduction and no excess stock. Sustainability has been part of how Abacá works from the beginning, and the brand continues to look for ways to do better.
